Why these get booked late
Nobody plans an anniversary shoot six months ahead.
This is the least-planned session we photograph, and that is not a criticism — it is just how it happens.
The realisation usually arrives about a week before the date. An anniversary is coming, or someone notices that every photograph of the two of you together is from the wedding and everyone else in it is a relative.
That short lead time is exactly where a nearby studio helps. A session arranged in a few days is a much smaller ask when it does not require a journey planned around it, and these bookings live or die on how easy they are to say yes to.
It also keeps them low-stakes, which is the right register. This is not a wedding shoot; it is an hour, gently directed, aimed at photographs that look like the two of you rather than like a production.
The low-commitment nature of these sessions is exactly why distance decides whether they happen. An hour nearby is something two people will do on a Saturday morning. The same hour with a long journey attached becomes a plan, and plans get postponed.
Getting ready

These sessions work best when almost nothing has been prepared. Wear what you actually wear, in colours that sit together, and resist buying anything new — the photographs are supposed to look like you rather than like an occasion.
Bring a second option each if you want variety, but two looks is plenty for an hour. More than that turns a relaxed session into a schedule, which is exactly what it should not be.
The only thing genuinely worth deciding beforehand is whether you want anything specific — a place that means something, a particular kind of light, something you have seen and liked. Otherwise arrive and let it be simple.
Planning it
A short conversation before we start
We will ask what the photographs are for, if anything — an anniversary, a gift, or simply the absence of any decent picture of the two of you. The answer changes the register more than the location does.
We will ask how much direction you want. Some couples want to be told exactly where to stand and are relieved by it; others find that stiffening. Both are easy to accommodate and impossible to guess.
And we will ask whether there is anywhere that matters to you. A short journey means we can reach most places on this side of the city without the travel eating the session, so if there is somewhere, say so.

How quickly can you fit us in?
Ask and we will tell you what is open. Short-notice couple sessions are common and easier to accommodate than a full function, particularly on a weekday.
We are not photogenic and we do not know how to pose.
Nobody does, and being told to relax has never helped anyone. You get gentle direction — where to stand, what to do with your hands — so you are never left guessing.
Studio or outdoors?
Either. The studio is predictable and comfortable; outdoors gives you light and a sense of place. Tell us which appeals and we will suggest how to run it.
Do we need an occasion?
No. Most of these are anniversaries, but plenty are booked for no reason at all beyond wanting a decent photograph together, which is reason enough.
Where do most couples come from for these sessions?
Viman Nagar, Kharadi, Kalyani Nagar, Koregaon Park and Chandan Nagar, in roughly that order. Short-notice bookings tend to come from nearby simply because they are easier to arrange.
How much notice do you need for a couple session?
Often not much. These are short sessions and easier to place than a function, particularly for people nearby who can take a weekday slot.
Do you photograph older couples as well?
Yes, and those are among the better sessions we do. Shorter, gentler, and often booked by their children — which is a good reason to keep it easy and unhurried.
Can we bring a pet?
Tell us in advance and we will plan for it. A dog in the frame changes the pace of a session and it works far better as a plan than as a surprise.
How long is a couple session?
Around an hour, deliberately. Longer sessions do not produce better photographs of two people who would rather be doing something else.
Can we do this at short notice?
Often yes. These are short sessions and easier to place than a function, particularly on a weekday for someone nearby.
Will you send us a few images quickly?
Tell us at booking if that matters and we will prioritise a small set. It is a different request from the full gallery and easy to plan for.
Can we bring a change of clothes?
Yes, and one change is usually plenty for an hour. Two looks gives the set some variety without turning a relaxed session into a schedule that has to be kept to.
What time of day works best?
Late afternoon, most of the year, because the light is soft and neither of you is squinting. If that does not suit, tell us and we will work around it rather than insisting.
Anniversary coming up?
Send us the date even if it is next week. Short notice is normal for these and usually workable.
