Event Photography in Pune

Good event photography is a scheduling exercise before it is a camera one. Being in position thirty seconds before something happens is the entire difference between covering an event and photographing the back of it.

Send us the run sheet — sessions, speakers, breaks, the awards, the moment the chief guest arrives — and we will work from it rather than following the crowd around and hoping. If the schedule slips on the day, and it will, we adjust from a plan instead of from nothing.

For anything running longer than a few hours, or across more than one hall, tell us early. A single photographer covering two parallel tracks is a compromise, and it is better discussed while it can still be solved than explained afterwards.

Stage work needs clean frames of every speaker, and it needs them without a photographer walking across the front of the room every four minutes. We shoot from positions worked out in advance and move between them at the breaks.

For panels and awards we cover both sides — the person speaking and the room reacting. A photograph of a speaker with an empty-looking hall behind them is not usable, and it is avoidable with the right angle.

If there are sponsors, someone will need photographs proving their branding was visible. Backdrops, banners, stage graphics and signage all get covered deliberately rather than incidentally.

Tell us at the briefing which logos matter and where they are placed. Sponsor coverage is one of the few parts of an event shoot with a genuinely fixed requirement, and it is far easier to satisfy on the day than to reconstruct afterwards.

The frames that make an event look successful are usually not the ones from the stage. They are full rooms, people talking, a registration desk with a queue at it, an exhibition floor that is busy.

We cover those throughout, and we cover them early — a hall photographs fullest in the first hour, not the last.

We stay out of the way while doing it. Delegates who notice a photographer stop behaving naturally, and a room full of people looking at the camera is not a photograph of an event.

Not every event runs to a printed schedule. A Griha Pravesh or Vastu Shanti is a puja, a house full of relatives and a meal, and it deserves the same attention as a conference with none of the formality.

House ceremonies are worth photographing before the guests arrive as well as during. The rooms are never quite that tidy again, and for a family who have just moved in that is a record worth having on its own.

Store openings and inaugurations are the commercial version of the same job — the ribbon, the first customers through the door, the team in front of the new signage. Those frames date quickly and are worth getting right on the day.

Tell us which kind of event it is when you enquire. A family function and a corporate launch want very different pacing, and getting that wrong is the most common way event coverage disappoints.

Events have a shelf life. Photographs from a conference are worth most in the days immediately after it, while the posts go up and the report is written, and rather less a fortnight later.

Tell us at the booking stage what you need and when. A quick selection for social while the event is still running is a different request from the full edited set, and both can be planned for. We confirm the timeline in writing rather than leaving it vague.
